Overview
Understand what the tool solves, how it works, and the boundaries of its data.
This Chinese radical worksheet generator turns a preset group or a custom list of Hanzi into rows for handwriting practice. A preset supplies a group of example characters; custom mode lets you enter the characters yourself and optionally add a short radical label. That label is for the worksheet heading. The page does not check whether each character actually contains that radical, identify components, define words, or teach stroke order.
Each character gets its own row: a character label sits beside repeated writing cells. Some cells can show a faint guide character for tracing, while the remaining cells stay open for handwriting from memory. Pick from Tianzige (field-style), Mizige (diagonal guides), nine-square, return-palace, square, or unruled cells. These are page-layout choices; they do not grade handwriting.
Choose Letter for common US home and classroom printers, or A4, A5, or B5 when that matches your paper. Portrait and landscape orientation are available. You can adjust cells per row, the number of guide cells, cell size, spacing, margins, and guide and line colors. The available cell size is 14–26 mm, spacing 0–6 mm, margins 6–28 mm, and 3–12 cells per row.
The preview reports the character count, cells per row, and page count. More characters or larger cells can add pages; changing orientation, margins, or cell size can change how many rows fit vertically. A Letter setting describes the generated page dimensions, so use the same paper size in the print dialog to avoid unwanted scaling.
Guide
Follow the workflow and verify inputs and outputs with practical examples.
Choose one of the built-in radical groups to use its sample characters, or select custom. In custom mode, enter up to three characters as a label if useful, then type the Hanzi to practice. Spaces are ignored, and the characters are laid out in the order entered.
Add a worksheet title and, if desired, show fields for a learner name, class, date, or score. These are blank or editable labels for organizing practice, not automatically filled student records.
Select a grid style, paper size, and orientation. Set how many practice cells appear in each row and how many contain guide characters. For example, enter 海江河, choose Letter portrait and Tianzige, set eight cells per row and three guide cells: each character appears on its own line with guided cells followed by open practice space.
Review the page count and spacing, then generate the sheet. After generation, choose an image download, PDF, Word export, or print. Recheck the printed preview and paper selection before using multiple copies.
Use cases
See how the tool fits into real work and everyday tasks.
A teacher can select a preset or enter the lesson’s characters, add a class heading, and provide a few traced examples followed by blank cells for independent writing.
A learner or caregiver can enter a short list of recently studied characters, print a dated page, and keep the completed sheet to review practice over time.
Someone studying Mandarin can choose familiar grids, vary the number of guide cells, and create a second page with more blank space as tracing becomes less useful.
Q&A
Find concise answers to common questions and confusing cases.
No. The label is printed as a heading only. Check the character list yourself if radical membership matters for a lesson.
No. It provides guide characters and writing grids, not stroke-by-stroke diagrams, animation, or handwriting assessment.
Check that the printer dialog uses the same paper size and orientation as the worksheet and review its scaling setting. A different paper choice or fit-to-page option can resize the cells.
Notes
Review scope, result limitations, and important precautions before use.
Display of Hanzi depends on fonts available on the device used to preview or print the worksheet. Inspect every character and page break before distributing copies, especially when using less common characters. The worksheet is a layout aid; it does not establish a preferred handwriting form or replace instruction from a language teacher.
