Who maintains this
Toolkk is designed and maintained by a solo developer with 10+ years of experience. Every tool's functionality, copy review, and publication is done by me directly or under my immediate review. We're not a large company; there's no marketing department — every tool description and every line of calculation logic comes from a real person, which means if you see something wrong, telling us gets it fixed quickly.
How we write tool documentation
Each tool's detail page (what is this tool, where does the formula come from, how to use it, common pitfalls, FAQ) follows this process:
- First drafts are generated from the tool's real inputs and outputs. We feed the tool's real parameters (input field names, output metrics, algorithm) to AI so the resulting copy stays tethered to the tool's actual capabilities.
- Anti-template validation. The system automatically checks for marketing-heavy patterns like "Why choose us" or "simple and easy interface"; matches trigger regeneration.
- Math and data are computed by the program. For tools with numerical lookup tables (NPV discount rate references, BMI classification, unit conversion), table content is generated by deterministic formulas, not AI guesses — eliminating numerical errors.
- YMYL (financial/medical/legal) tools get word-by-word human review. High-search-volume health, finance, and legal tools are reviewed separately, including whether their cited standards, textbooks, and authority entries actually exist.
Citation and reference policy
The entries listed at the bottom of each tool page under "References" / "Calculation basis" are all real and verifiable:
- Standards: such as IEC, ISO, China national standards (GB/T), RFCs, W3C specs, NIST FIPS.
- Textbooks: such as Corporate Finance (Ross et al.), CFA curriculum, domain-specific textbooks from established publishers.
- Official documents: guidelines from WHO, CDC, China NHC, People's Bank of China, Ministry of Finance, etc.
- Encyclopedias: high-editorial-standard entries like Investopedia and Wikipedia.
If a citation doesn't yet have a hyperlink, it's because we're batch-completing URLs to ensure all links work; in that case the section is titled "Calculation basis / Methodology" rather than "References" to avoid misleading readers.
What "Last updated" means
The "Last updated" timestamp at the bottom of each tool page reflects the most recent update to the tool's record in our backend — could be a copy rewrite, tag adjustment, formula correction, etc. It doesn't necessarily mean a major functional change, but it is the most recent time we touched the page.
Not professional advice
Our tools are suitable for quick reference, teaching examples, estimation, and decision aids, but do not constitute investment, financial, medical, legal, or tax advice of any kind. For major decisions, please consult qualified professionals and rely on official calculation tools or certified reports.
For health/medical tools: if results are abnormal or you have health concerns, consult a licensed doctor — don't treat tool output as diagnosis. For financial tools: investment carries risk and tool output does not predict real returns.
Data and privacy
Most Toolkk tools run entirely in your browser — your inputs are computed on your device and not sent to a server. A few tools requiring external APIs (lookups, etc.) note the data source and do not store personal data. See Privacy Policy。
