When you need to protect contracts, reports, or personal privacy in a PDF, this tool adds a secure password barrier using the AES-256 encryption algorithm. It supports two types of passwords: an open password to restrict viewing access, and a permissions password to finely manage actions like printing, copying, and modifying. This ensures your documents are only used by authorized personnel in the ways you specify.
Q: Can I recover my password if I forget it after encrypting the PDF?
No. The encryption uses an irreversible algorithm. Please make sure to keep your passwords safe.
Q: Why can the document still be printed even though I set a permissions password?
The permissions password must be used in conjunction with specific permission settings. If you do not uncheck the "Allow Printing" option, the document can still be printed despite the password.
We recommend using a strong password combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Although the encryption process is completed locally, we still advise against processing extremely confidential files. The maximum file size limit is typically 100MB.
For encrypting financial reports, we recommend setting both an open password (e.g., Report@2024) and a permissions password (e.g., Edit#Secure), while disabling all modification permissions. This ensures that only authorized personnel can view the content, and no one can copy or tamper with the data, complying with financial data protection standards.
