Open the A-share real-time quote tool, enter 600519 (Kweichow Moutai) into the stock ticker input box, and click "Search." The tool instantly returns data such as the latest price, price change, trading volume, and P/E ratio. A-share real-time quotes are the current trading price information released to the market by the exchange through its market data system, typically updated every 3 seconds. The numbers we see in this tool come directly from the exchange's Level-1 market data, including core indicators like previous close, today's open, high, low, latest price, price change, turnover, total market capitalization, and trailing P/E ratio (TTM). For short-term traders, these numbers are firsthand evidence for judging when to buy and sell; for long-term investors, the P/E and P/B ratios are common references for evaluating valuation levels.
Price Change Calculation Formula (Common):
Price Change (%) = (Latest Price - Previous Close) / Previous Close × 100%
The "Previous Close" refers to the closing price of the previous trading day (unadjusted). The tool automatically calculates and displays "+2.50%" or "-1.30%".
P/E Ratio (TTM) = Latest Price / Earnings Per Share (EPS) over the past 12 months
The P/E ratio reflects the price the market is willing to pay for every $1 (or 1 RMB) of a company's earnings. For example, a P/E ratio of 30 means investors are willing to spend 30 to buy 1 in annual profit. The financial intuition behind this formula is: a high P/E ratio usually means the market expects high-speed future earnings growth, but it also implies valuation risks.
Let's take a leading A-share consumer company as an example. Open the "China A-Shares Real-Time Quotes Tool" above:
• Enter 000858 (Wuliangye) in the "Stock Ticker" input box;
• Click search, and the tool instantly displays: Latest Price 152.30 RMB, Price Change +3.20%, Previous Close 147.60 RMB;
• The right side shows P/E Ratio (TTM) 22.5, P/B Ratio 6.8, and Turnover 5.87 billion RMB;
• Interpretation: The stock price rose by 3.2% that day, the P/E ratio of 22.5 is at the median level of the past 5 years, and the increased turnover indicates high market attention. If the price change exceeds 5% and the P/E ratio is below 20, it might be a short-term signal of undervaluation (needs to be judged alongside fundamentals).
Example 1 (Extreme Value): Enter 603260 (Hoshine Silicon). It hits the daily limit up (10%). The search shows a latest price of 88.00 and a price change of +10.00%. Note that when a stock hits the limit up, there are massive buy orders, and the P/E ratio might soar above 80. If the price change is +10% but the P/E ratio exceeds 100, it indicates overheated market sentiment and high risk.
Example 2 (Limit Down Counter-Example): Enter 300750 (CATL). It hits the daily limit down (-10%). The display shows a latest price of 180.00 and a price change of -10.00%. At this point, the P/E ratio drops sharply from 30 to 27, but the turnover remains as high as 12 billion RMB. Interpretation: This is an emotional decline, but the fundamentals have not deteriorated; you can watch for subsequent rebound opportunities (this does not constitute trading advice).
| Price Change Range | Meaning | Common Scenarios |
|---|---|---|
| >5% | Strong or weak (near limit up/down) | Major good/bad news, extreme short-term sentiment |
| 2% ~ 5% | Significant volatility | Earnings season, industry policy changes |
| -2% ~ 2% | Narrow consolidation | Normal trading, capital tug-of-war |
| P/E Ratio <15 | Low valuation (potentially undervalued) | Mature industries like banks and cyclicals |
| 15~30 | Fair valuation | Most blue-chip consumer stocks |
| >50 | High valuation (depends on growth) | High-growth stocks like tech and pharma |
Note: Price change is calculated based on the previous closing price; the TTM P/E ratio is more timely. If the P/E ratio is negative, it means the company has been operating at a loss over the past 12 months.
Q: How often does this tool update its data?
A: A-share Level-1 market data refreshes approximately every 3 seconds, which is basically consistent with brokerage software. It stops changing after the market closes at 15:00.
Q: Why is the P/E ratio of the stock I searched negative?
A: A negative P/E ratio indicates that the stock has been operating at a loss over the past 12 months (negative earnings per share). In this case, the P/B ratio is a more valuable reference.
Q: Is a 10% price change the daily limit?
A: Yes, A-share main board stocks have a ±10% daily limit. The ChiNext board (tickers starting with 300) is ±20%, and the Beijing Stock Exchange (tickers starting with 8) is ±30%. The tool will automatically identify and label these.
Q: What does it mean when the search result shows "Suspended"?
A: The stock has been temporarily suspended from trading due to major events (such as restructuring or abnormal volatility), and there is no latest price during this period. The data will reappear once trading resumes.
Q: How can I use this tool to make investment decisions?
A: Real-time quotes only provide current market information and cannot predict the future. It is recommended to combine this with fundamental analysis, industry trends, and capital flows for a comprehensive judgment, and to set stop-loss limits.
Q: Can I view my watchlist in bulk?
A: The current version supports single-stock queries. If you need bulk comparisons, please use Excel or professional investment software.
