Search for trading symbols (contract codes) of global stocks, futures, forex, cryptocurrencies, and precious metals by name or keyword—ready to use with candlestick chart and technical indicator tools.
Keyword matches code, English name, or pinyin initials. Category codes: USST (US), CNST (CN A-share), HKST (HK), GBFT (intl futures), GBDC (crypto), etc. At least one of keyword/category is required.
Enter a name/code keyword and click Search to get the matching instrument symbols
Type "AAPL" in the search box and click the search button—the first row of the results table will show the full code "NASDAQAAPL". This is the core purpose of symbol search: to quickly translate fuzzy names you know into the standard contract codes required by market data systems.
Every tradeable asset—stocks, futures, forex, cryptocurrencies, precious metals, indices—has a unique "symbol code" in market data systems. The same asset typically exists in two forms: "full code" (with market prefix) and "short code" (local code). For example, Apple Inc. on NASDAQ has the full code NASDAQAAPL and short code AAPL; Ping An Bank on China's A-share market has the full code SZSE000001 and short code 000001. Downstream candlestick chart APIs and technical indicator tools typically require the full code; they cannot process short codes. This tool maintains a mapping table covering symbols from major global markets. Using keyword fuzzy matching and category filtering, it quickly converts your natural language input, abbreviations, or pinyin initials into the corresponding standard codes, displaying the full code directly in the results table for one-click copying.
Let's use finding Apple Inc. stock as an example. Open the symbol search tool above:
The table will display results like: Full code NASDAQAAPL, Short code AAPL, Product name Apple Inc., Market NASDAQ, Category USST (US stocks). Copy the full code and paste it into any candlestick chart tool to retrieve Apple's historical data. This example shows that you can quickly find what you're looking for using either the English name or short code—no need to memorize market prefixes.
Finding Bitcoin: Enter btc in the "Keywords" field and click search. The results will show multiple codes like BTCUSD (Bitcoin vs. USD) and BTCUSDT (perpetual contracts), all in the GBDC (Digital currencies) category. You can select the appropriate contract code based on the notes.
Finding A-Share Stocks: Enter 000001 and the search returns SZSE000001 (Ping An Bank), short code 000001, market SZSE. Even if you only remember the 6-digit code, you'll get the full code with the exchange prefix.
No Results: Enter XYZ123 and click search—the table shows "No matching results." In this case, try a different format, such as the English name, code, or pinyin initials; or add a category code to narrow the scope.
Why can't I find the product I'm looking for using Chinese names?
Chinese name matching is limited. We recommend prioritizing English names, codes, or pinyin initials for searching. For example, if searching for "苹果" (apple) yields no results, try apple or AAPL.
What's the difference between full code and short code?
Full code includes the market prefix and is the standard format required by market data APIs. Short code is typically the local code for quick identification. Search results display both; when copying, select the full code.
Is the category code required?
No, it's optional. Adding a category code narrows the search scope and improves accuracy, especially when keywords are ambiguous. You need to fill in at least one of keywords or category code.
There are too many results—how many records per page?
A maximum of 50 records display per page. When there are many results, use the pagination feature to browse all matches; we recommend using a category code to further filter.
Can I use the codes found here directly in candlestick tools?
Yes. After copying the full code, paste it into our site's "Historical Candlestick Query" or "Technical Indicator Query" tool to retrieve data directly without manual format adjustments.
Is there a limit to queries?
Each query consumes a certain number of points, but there is no daily hard limit. You can see the consumption amount for each query next to the button on the page.
This tool maintains a symbol database covering common products on major global exchanges, but cannot guarantee 100% coverage of all contracts, especially newly listed, delisted, or niche regional products. Data updates may be delayed and are not guaranteed to be synchronized in real-time with exchanges. All search results are for reference only and do not constitute investment, trading, or financial advice. For actual trading decisions, rely on the exchange's official codes and consult professional advisors. The tool bears no responsibility for losses caused by code errors.
Now you can try entering a product of interest in the search box above—for example, "TSLA" or "btc".
