Overview
Understand what the tool solves, how it works, and the boundaries of its data.
Use this page to convert a JPG/JPEG image to WebP or a WebP image to JPG. The input format determines the output direction: JPG/JPEG files are exported as WebP, and WebP files as JPG. You can add images to a processing list and download completed results individually.
JPG and WebP are image formats with different encoding capabilities. WebP can represent transparency and animation, while JPG output is opaque. Conversion decodes the source picture and encodes a new image; it is not a byte-for-byte format-label change.
Guide
Follow the workflow and verify inputs and outputs with practical examples.
The image is drawn and exported through a browser canvas at a fixed quality setting. There is no quality slider or target-file-size control. Re-encoding may change image detail and file size, and the result can be larger or smaller than the original depending on the image and encoding.
Because WebP animation is read as an image for this workflow, the output is a still image rather than an animated WebP sequence. If animation matters, keep the original or use a workflow designed to retain multiple frames.
Use cases
See how the tool fits into real work and everyday tasks.
Select or drop JPG, JPEG, or WebP files. Each file must be no larger than 1 MB, and the uploader accepts up to five files at a time.
The input extension determines the opposite target format and each file is converted in the browser.
Check the preview and output status; remove any entry you do not need.
Download the converted image, then open it in the intended application or browser to confirm appearance and compatibility.
When converting WebP to JPG, transparent areas cannot remain transparent. They are filled with white before the JPG is exported. If you need a transparent background, retain WebP or choose a target format that supports transparency.
JPG to WebP also re-encodes the picture at the tool’s fixed export quality. Compare the result at its intended display size, especially around text, edges, gradients, and fine detail. Do not assume that a new extension guarantees a smaller file or visually identical pixels.
Q&A

Up to five per selection, with a 1 MB limit for each file.
Notes
Review scope, result limitations, and important precautions before use.
Conversion re-encodes the image and can alter detail or file size. Keep the source if quality, transparency, or animation must be retained, and inspect the output in its intended application before replacing an original.
