When a website lacks a custom icon, browser tabs look generic. This tool converts JPG, PNG, and other images into ICO format favicons (a 16x16 pixel website identifier file). Through size compression and format conversion technology, it generates a miniature brand logo tailored for browser tabs and bookmark bars.
How can I ensure the generated icon is clear?
We recommend uploading an image with a resolution of 128x128 or higher. Converting from a small size will result in a loss of detail.
What is the purpose of including multiple sizes in an ICO file?
Browsers automatically call the appropriate size based on the display context, preventing a single-size icon from appearing blurry on high-resolution screens.
The source image must have a square aspect ratio; non-square images will be cropped automatically. Please use the PNG format if your image has an alpha channel (transparency). After changing your website icon, you need to clear your browser cache for the changes to take effect.
Modern browsers already support PNG format favicons, but ICO remains the most widely compatible solution. For high-fidelity display, you can supplement it with a PNG format icon: <link rel="icon" type="image/png" sizes="32x32" href="/icon-32.png">
