Automatically generate creative group ship names and character pairings effortlessly.
Please enter at least two names and click Generate.
Overview
Understand what the tool solves, how it works, and the boundaries of its data.
This ship-name generator creates candidate labels by combining the text of two or more entered names. In fandom and relationship contexts, “ship” commonly means a pairing label, but the results here are simple string combinations: initials, short prefixes, full-name orderings, alternating characters, separators, and a CP suffix. The generator does not interpret a name's meaning, pronunciation, language, or relationship.
For two names such as Alex and Jordan, the list may include initials in both orders, full names joined in either order, an initial attached to the other full name, and versions joined by symbols such as ×, x, ampersand, or a heart. Repeated candidates are deduplicated before the requested number is shown. The visible list can therefore be shorter than the requested count.
You can provide two through six names. With more than two, the candidate set includes a sequence of all initials, names joined in the entered order, symbol-separated full-name forms, pairwise combinations, and some rotated orderings. Input order affects results. These are naming prompts rather than polished portmanteaus or a single recommended answer.
Guide
Follow the workflow and verify inputs and outputs with practical examples.
Use the initial two fields, then add fields for additional people up to six total. Blank fields are skipped when generating. Nicknames or shortened names can make the literal combinations more compact.
The count starts at 20 and accepts a minimum of 5. The maximum depends on the account's available batch limit. Because repeated combinations are removed and the rules create a finite set, the actual result count can be lower than requested.
Review the candidates for readability, unintended words, and whether all people are recognizable. Each item has its own copy control; you can also copy the full result list.
Change name order or use nicknames and generate again. The set of combinations can change because several rules follow the entered order.
Use cases
See how the tool fits into real work and everyday tasks.
Enter two or more character names to brainstorm a tag or shorthand, then check the conventions already used by that fan community.
Combine friends' names to find a playful group label. Select an option that everyone represented is comfortable using.
Generate rough labels for a cast list or planning document, then edit the result for clarity and tone before sharing it.
Q&A
Find concise answers to common questions and confusing cases.
No. It applies text-combination patterns and does not score pronunciation, meaning, or style. Read candidates aloud and edit them if you want a smoother result.
Yes. Add names for a group of up to six. Group results combine initials, full names, separators, pairwise ideas, and rotations; they may be less compact as the list grows.
The requested count is a ceiling for displayed candidates, not a promise. Duplicate combinations are removed, and each input produces only a finite set of patterns.
Notes
Review scope, result limitations, and important precautions before use.
Generated strings can be awkward, ambiguous, or already used by someone else. Check spelling, context, and community conventions before adopting one publicly. Avoid entering names or personal details that you do not want included in a shared device or copied result.
