This calculator has a range-count mode and an add-workdays mode. In a range, it counts both the start and end dates, treating Saturday and Sunday as weekend days. If the dates are entered in reverse order, the page swaps them into chronological order before counting. The result shows workdays, weekend days, and total calendar days.
In add mode, choose a base date, a nonnegative number, and a forward or backward direction. The base date itself is not counted when moving by a positive number: adding one workday from Friday reaches Monday. Adding zero returns the base date, even if it falls on a weekend.
Range workdays = inclusive calendar days − Saturdays and Sundays
Workday offset = move one calendar day at a time in the selected direction; count only Monday through Friday
For example, Monday through Friday is five counted workdays. Friday through the following Monday is four inclusive calendar days, of which Friday and Monday are two workdays. The date display uses a year-month-day order such as 2026-09-21, which avoids the ambiguity of numeric month/day formats.

Use range count to tally weekdays between two dates. Choose add mode to move a specified number of weekdays forward or backward from a base date.
For a range, enter both endpoints; both are included. For an offset, enter the base date, a nonnegative whole-number count, and the direction.
Range mode reports workdays, weekend days, and total days. Add mode reports the target date, its weekday, the workday offset, and calendar days spanned.
Copy the workday count or target date from the result. Compare it with the applicable organization calendar before scheduling.
For instance, starting Friday and adding one workday skips Saturday and Sunday, so the result is Monday. Starting Monday and adding two workdays reaches Wednesday. A zero offset leaves the entered date unchanged.

This is a weekday calculation with a fixed Saturday-and-Sunday weekend. It does not account for public holidays, observed holidays, emergency closures, shift schedules, or an employer's calendar. Workweeks also vary. For payroll, delivery commitments, contracts, court filings, or other formal deadlines, use the calendar and counting rules that apply to that situation rather than relying on this result alone.
