When you need to connect legacy wireless devices that only support WEP encryption, manually setting up a complex and easily crackable key is both time-consuming and insecure. This tool quickly generates random keys that comply with WEP standards, including 64-bit (10 HEX characters) or 128-bit (26 HEX characters) types. It supports both Hexadecimal and ASCII formats and outputs your specified number of key results. A WEP key is a password string used for the early WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) wireless encryption protocol, consisting of a character sequence of a specific length.
WEP encryption has severe security vulnerabilities and is easily cracked. Please use it only when necessary to maintain compatibility with legacy devices. Keep the generated keys safe to avoid leaks. The keys generated by this tool are random strings, but absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Do not use them in sensitive network environments.
When configuring legacy devices, if WEP must be used, it is recommended to change the key regularly and restrict network access permissions. For example, a 64-bit Hexadecimal key example is: 1A2B3C4D5E; a 128-bit ASCII key example is: MySecureWEPKey128#. Note that different devices may support different key formats, so please refer to your device manual.
