When an unknown device appears on your network, quickly identifying its manufacturer and physical location is a critical network management requirement. This tool parses the OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier) in a MAC address—the first 6 hexadecimal characters (e.g., 00:1A:2B)—and matches it against an authoritative database. It outputs complete attribution information, including the company name, country, state/province (with ZIP/postal code), and street address.
How should I format the MAC address?
You can use colon-separated (00:1A:2B), hyphen-separated (00-1A-2B), or unseparated 12-character formats (001A2B).
Why can't I find the manufacturer for some MAC addresses?
This usually happens in three scenarios: 1. Locally Administered Addresses (LAA) without a registered OUI; 2. Newly assigned OUIs that haven't been indexed yet; 3. Unconventional address ranges (e.g., generated by virtualization). We recommend testing a known manufacturer's OUI (like Apple: D8:CB:8A) as a baseline reference.
The input must be 12 valid hexadecimal characters. Result accuracy is subject to database update timeliness. For sensitive scenarios, secondary verification is recommended. This tool does not store any search records.
For security auditing, we recommend using OUI prefixes to quickly screen suspicious devices (e.g., the non-standard OUI 02:15:5E typically belongs to a virtual machine). As a typical example, the Apple device OUI prefix is 58:69:6C; entering 58:69:6C:XX:XX:XX will verify the basic functionality.
