Accurately convert 12 Ordibehesht from the Iranian calendar to the Gregorian date, complete with holiday background and calendar details.
Observed on May 2.
The day commemorates a noted educator and honors teachers.
Overview
Understand what the tool solves, how it works, and the boundaries of its data.
This page counts down to Iran’s Teachers’ Day, observed on the 12th of Ordibehesht in the Iranian Solar Hijri calendar. Ordibehesht is the calendar’s second month. Because a date in that calendar does not always land on the same Gregorian date, the countdown finds the Gregorian day corresponding to Ordibehesht 12 for the relevant year instead of treating May 2 as a fixed annual date.
The result shows the upcoming observance date, the anniversary number, and the remaining days, hours, minutes, and seconds. The date calculation uses the Persian calendar with Tehran as its calendar time-zone reference. The Cultural Institute of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Rome also identifies Ordibehesht 12 as Iran’s National Teachers’ Day; its 2026 article gives May 2 for that year. Read the Cultural Institute’s observance note.
Guide
Follow the workflow and verify inputs and outputs with practical examples.
Open the page and check the displayed upcoming anniversary date. It is shown in your selected page language and should be read as a Gregorian calendar date.
Use the year controls to move between anniversary years. The displayed anniversary number identifies the selected celebration year; it is not a field for entering an arbitrary Gregorian year.
Read the countdown beside the date for the remaining time. You can use the page’s calendar control to add the displayed event to a personal calendar, then check the saved date and time zone before relying on it.
If you are preparing a message or schedule, copy the complete displayed date rather than relying on “12 Ordibehesht” or the anniversary number alone.
Use cases
See how the tool fits into real work and everyday tasks.
Teachers, students, or organizers outside Iran can check the next Gregorian date before preparing a greeting or event note. Confirm local venue schedules separately, since a countdown does not indicate closures or event hours.
People coordinating with colleagues or family in Iran can use the date as a planning reference, then state the full date and local time zone in invitations. This avoids treating a date shown on one device as an announcement of the observance’s local start time.
Q&A
Find concise answers to common questions and confusing cases.
No. The observance is tied to 12 Ordibehesht in the Iranian calendar. Its Gregorian date can differ by year, so use the date calculated for the selected year rather than assuming May 2 every time.
The year controls move through anniversary years; they are not a general year-entry box. The page updates the date and countdown for the selected anniversary.
The countdown follows the browser’s local clock, while the calendar date rule is evaluated with Tehran as its reference time zone. Near midnight, the remaining time can differ from a countdown viewed in Iran.
No. It gives the observance date and countdown only. Check a current local school or government notice for closures, ceremonies, or other arrangements.
Notes
Review scope, result limitations, and important precautions before use.
This page identifies the Iranian observance by its Solar Hijri date and calculates the Gregorian equivalent. It does not verify an official annual holiday calendar, school closure, ceremony schedule, or the time an event begins in Iran. If a trip, formal notice, or school activity depends on the date, confirm it with the relevant Iranian institution for that year.
The countdown uses the device’s local clock, so its remaining-time display can vary with the viewer’s time zone. If the Persian calendar is unavailable in the viewing environment, the date calculation may fail rather than provide a result.
