Uses your phone's flashlight, with steady-on mode, SOS flashing, and brightness adjustment on supported devices.
The Flashlight tool directly controls your phone's rear flash. Once turned on, you can switch between steady-on mode and SOS mode. Steady-on is useful when the power goes out, you need to find something, walk in the dark, or inspect a computer case or the gap behind furniture. SOS flashes in a repeating three-short, three-long, three-short pattern to create a clear visual distress signal within sight range. It is a native, device-side tool and does not require you to submit page content to a remote server first.
On some Android devices, the system allows multiple flashlight brightness levels. When that is available, the interface will show a brightness slider and the current percentage. If your phone only supports on/off control, the tool still works normally for steady light and SOS, but it will not show brightness options that cannot be used. Brightness levels depend on the camera hardware and system interface, and they do not represent a universal lumen value.
After opening the tool, first check that the page does not show a message saying the device has no available flashlight. Then select steady-on mode and tap the center switch. The button and status will update together when the light is on; tap again to turn it off. On supported devices, you can drag the slider to move from softer close-range lighting to a brighter setting, which helps avoid starting at full brightness near reflective surfaces or in someone else's eyes.
When you leave the tool, switch to the background, or the app becomes inactive, the program will try to turn off the light proactively to reduce battery drain and heat from being left on by mistake. If the camera is already being used by another app for scanning, taking photos, or video calls, the system may refuse to turn on the flashlight. End the other camera-related task first, then return and try again.
After selecting SOS, tap to turn it on, and the flashlight will repeatedly send the internationally recognized short-short-short, long-long-long, short-short-short signal. Switching back to steady-on mode or tapping off will stop the sequence immediately. SOS is a visual signal only; it does not place a call, send a text message, upload your location, or replace emergency services. In a real emergency, contact local rescue services first and use sound, location sharing, or other reliable methods as additional help.
Rapid flashing may be uncomfortable for people sensitive to light, and it may distract others while driving, biking, or working with machinery. Do not point flashing light directly at eyes, road vehicles, or aircraft. Children should use it with adult supervision and avoid staring at the light for long periods.
A flashlight that stays on uses battery power and warms up the camera module and device body, especially at higher brightness levels. If you need light for a longer period, start with the lowest brightness that still gives you enough visibility, and check battery level and temperature regularly. On some phones, high temperature, low battery, or battery saver mode may cause the system to lower brightness or turn the flashlight off automatically. That is normal system protection, not a tool failure.
The slider shows relative levels provided by the device, so 50% on one brand is not guaranteed to match 50% on another. If the change is hard to notice, the hardware steps may be very close together, or the system may only support a limited number of levels. The tool does not fake LED brightness with a white screen, so tablets without a flashlight will clearly show that the feature is unavailable.
Finding keys nearby, checking under a bed, reading device labels, unlocking a door at night, and handling a short power outage are all typical uses for steady-on mode. When brightness is adjustable, the lower settings are better for reading door numbers or avoiding glare from glass, while higher settings are better for lighting up objects a bit farther away. SOS mode is better for drawing attention to your location from a distance than for ordinary flashing entertainment.
Phone flashlight beams are concentrated, and their coverage and heat dissipation are not the same as a dedicated flashlight. For camping, hiking, night repairs, or other activities that require reliable lighting, prepare a separate light source, spare batteries, and a physical emergency tool. The phone function is best used as a convenient backup.
The tool only requests the system capability needed to control the flashlight. On different system versions, flashlight access may be grouped under camera hardware management, but turning on the flashlight does not mean the tool is taking photos or recording video. The tool page does not display camera images and does not save pictures. Standard ToolKK usage and browsing events are still recorded according to existing analytics rules to help understand whether the feature is opened and used, and these records do not include anything the light illuminates.
If system permission has been permanently denied, you can go to the app permissions section in device settings and allow it again. If you do not want to keep using it, simply turn off the light and leave the page. Do not install untrusted versions, and do not grant contacts, SMS, or other unrelated permissions just for a flashlight.
If the flashlight will not turn on, first close the camera, scanner, live stream, or video call, then try again. Next, check whether the phone actually has a rear flashlight and whether the system is in an ultra-low-battery or high-temperature protection state. If the brightness slider does not appear, that usually means the current device or system interface does not support graded control, which does not affect the basic on/off function. If SOS stops unexpectedly, it may be caused by switching apps, locking the screen, the system reclaiming camera resources, or thermal protection.
If the flashlight is already off but the status has not updated yet, go back and re-enter the page. If the hardware is still lit, use the system quick toggle to turn it off and restart the app. Do not use any app-controlled phone flashlight for medical inspection, traffic control, or work that requires certified brightness levels and explosion-proof ratings.
