The tool generates each page using a two-dimensional geometric array. After reading the physical paper dimensions you select—210 mm × 297 mm for A4, for example—it subtracts standard print-safe margins and positions each dot according to the formula “coordinate = starting offset + index × spacing.” The browser converts physical millimeters to on-screen pixels based on display DPI, helping the exported file preserve the intended spacing when printed at 100% scale. The visual weight of the grid depends on both dot size and color contrast; dots that are too large or closely spaced can make the page harder to write on. Example: To create B5 paper for study notes, set the page size to B5 (176 × 250 mm), choose portrait orientation, set the spacing to 4 mm, and set the dot size to 1.0 mm. After you generate the page, the preview will show a portrait B5 sheet with dots spaced evenly at 4 mm, a centered title at the top, and a centered page number at the bottom. Export the page as a PDF and select “Actual Size” when printing. Each sheet will contain approximately 38 dots across and 56 dots down, with a measured spacing of 4.0 mm and a tolerance of less than 0.1 mm. This spacing works well with a 0.35 mm gel pen, keeping handwriting clear without obscuring the dots.
Boundary test: If you reduce the spacing to 2 mm, increase the dot size to 2.5 mm, and use a light blue background, the grid becomes extremely dense and the dot edges may overlap slightly in the preview. We do not recommend combining spacing below 2.5 mm with large dots, as laser-printer toner may blur at the edges and make the page look smudged. For sharper printing, restore the spacing to 5 mm or keep the tighter spacing and reduce the dot size to less than 0.5 mm.
Exported PDF and PNG files contain no tool branding. If the grid is cropped or the spacing appears larger in the print preview, check whether the printer’s “Page Scaling” option is set to “Fit to Page.” Switch it to “100%” or “Actual Size”; otherwise, the print software may resize the page and distort the physical spacing. Word exports are saved as static page images. To change any settings, return to this tool, regenerate the template, and export a new file.

No. Word exports contain a fully rendered static page image, so the grid is embedded in the document and cannot be edited like a grid in Excel or professional drawing software. To change the spacing or color, return to the dot grid paper generator, update the settings, and export a new file.
The branding distinguishes the online preview from the finished output. Exported PDF, PNG, and Word files are clean and print-ready. They include only the page title and page numbers you add, with no generator watermark.

This tool is designed for standard dot grid paper. All calculations and rendering take place locally in your browser; no settings or files are uploaded. Headers and page numbers are printed content, not translucent watermarks. Leave the title field blank if you want extra whitespace.
Print accuracy depends heavily on your hardware. Consumer inkjet printers may produce 0.2–0.5 mm of ink spread on standard copy paper. For better results, use paper weighing at least 80 g/m² and enable the printer’s “High Quality” or “Fine” mode. For technical-drawing accuracy with a tolerance below 0.1 mm, use a laser printer or professional plotter.
Custom nonstandard paper shapes and sizes are not supported. If you need dimensions outside A4, A5, B5, or Letter, resize the exported file with a standard PDF scaling tool. Spacing below 2 mm or dots larger than 3 mm may reach browser rendering limits and take slightly longer to generate. This is expected. The tool generates templates but does not replace the vector-editing features of professional CAD or page-layout software.
