There are 14 days until the 2024 May Fourth Youth Day
May Fourth Youth Day originated from China's modern "May Fourth Movement". On May 4, 1919, a great patriotic movement broke out in Beijing, mainly by young students, with widespread participation from various social strata such as the masses, citizens, and industrialists, with the slogan "thoroughly oppose imperialism and thoroughly oppose feudalism". This movement marked the beginning of China's New Democratic Revolution and greatly promoted the spread of Marxism in China. To commemorate this great movement and the patriotic spirit and indomitable national spirit of the youth displayed therein, the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China officially announced in December 1949 that May 4th of each year would be designated as "May Fourth Youth Day".
