What this CERNET directory shows

This page displays a fixed collection of 19 IPv4 address records associated by their labels with Chinese education or campus networks. Each row has a starting address, an ending address, and a location or organization description. It is a reference list for reading or comparing an existing record; it does not query DNS, test a server, or tell you which resolver to configure.

Read the two address fields together

When the start and end values are identical, the row records one address. When they differ, the row records endpoints for an interval. An interval is not proof that every address inside it runs DNS, accepts queries, or belongs to an active service. The location text is the directory’s label, not a live geolocation result or a verified service boundary.

The collection is labelled web-collected, but its original publisher and collection date are unknown. The CERNET name describes the records’ labels; it does not certify that the network operator published, owns, or currently operates every address.

Search and compare records

Use the table search to find a text match in the displayed records, such as an institution name or a complete IP string. Sort by a column, change which columns are visible, and move through the pages as needed. Text search is not numeric range containment: entering an address that falls between two endpoints may not find that interval. Check both endpoints and the full location label before comparing a row with an old configuration or ticket.

Address records in the saved list

The table below preserves the directory’s current row order and labels. These are displayed records, not a fresh set of DNS checks.

For example, the first row has the same start and end value, while the Yunnan Minzu University row shows different endpoints. That difference describes how the record is stored; it does not indicate that addresses within the interval have been tested.

Export only when you need a copy

The table offers CSV and JSON export, along with print options. Export is a paid action on this page. A downloaded copy preserves the rows you selected for export but does not add provenance, a collection date, or current availability checks. Include your own retrieval date in working notes so later readers can distinguish the saved copy from a current operator notice.

Questions about interpreting the list

Provenance and network access

The source label is web-collected. The original publisher, collection date, full record provenance, resolver health, and public access status have not been verified. Addresses and institution names may be stale, restricted to a campus or provider network, reassigned, or no longer in service. A failed query from outside a network does not prove the service is down; a successful query does not establish a public-service policy.

Do not replace the DNS settings supplied by your ISP, employer, school, or network administrator solely because an address appears here. Ask the responsible operator to confirm a specific resolver and its intended scope first. Exporting or printing does not change these limits.
