Uses your phone's motion sensors to show left-right and front-back tilt, with the bubble position helping you judge whether a surface is level.
The Bubble Level estimates the phone's orientation relative to gravity using the device's accelerometer, and the page shows both left-right tilt and front-back tilt at the same time. The center bubble moves according to the tilt direction. When both axes are close to 0°, the bubble enters the center area and shows that it is level. The numeric values are useful for comparing which direction is off, while the bubble makes it easy to see the adjustment process at a glance.
This tool is mainly designed for everyday leveling tasks such as desks, shelves, picture frames, and appliance feet. The current judgment shows level when the absolute tilt on both axes is less than about 0.5°. This is only an interface threshold and does not mean the phone sensor, the device body, or the surface being measured has the same level of absolute accuracy.
First, remove any phone case with obvious protrusions or a built-in stand. Clean off dust or particles from the back of the phone and the surface being measured, then place the back of the phone flat in the center of a stable surface. Wait for the bubble and numbers to settle, then slowly adjust the corners or feet of the object so the bubble moves toward the center of the crosshair while both the left-right and front-back angles move toward 0°.
Do not press on the screen during measurement, because finger pressure can make a thin board or the phone lift slightly. After adjusting, release your hand and wait one or two seconds before reading the values, then rotate the phone 180° and measure again. If the two readings point in opposite directions with similar magnitude, the phone case, camera bump, or sensor offset may be causing a systematic bias. In that case, use the midpoint between the two results as a practical reference for daily use.
The left-right tilt shows the phone's lateral inclination, and the front-back tilt shows its longitudinal inclination. Positive and negative signs are used to distinguish opposite directions, not to indicate which side is correct. When adjusting an object, first look at which value has the larger absolute magnitude, correct that axis first, and then fine-tune the other one. If the bubble moves toward one side, it means the phone is tilted toward that side, but which foot should be raised depends on how the phone is positioned.
Small rapid fluctuations in the readings usually come from sensor noise, desk vibration, or moving the phone by hand. There is no need to force every frame to stay exactly at 0.0°. For everyday scenarios such as bookshelves or washing machines, a stable position in the center area is more meaningful than watching a single instant reading.
The current interface is designed for the phone to lie flat and is not a traditional edge-measurement mode like a long spirit level. When checking a narrow edge, if the phone cannot sit stably against it, do not hold it in the air and treat the reading as the surface angle. When measuring a preset sloped drainage surface, you can record relative tilt changes, but you should first define the reference plane and repeat the measurement several times.
To improve repeatability, place the phone in the same position and orientation each time, away from vibrating motors, speakers, or a running washing machine. Record the unloaded state first, then record the adjusted state. If you need to compare multiple locations, use consistent numbering and screenshots or written notes, and do not judge an entire long surface only by a momentary green status.
Hanging a picture, installing a simple shelf, adjusting table legs, placing a record player, or checking whether a refrigerator is obviously leaning are all good cases for using the phone Bubble Level as a quick first check. It can also help in photography when you want to understand the level state of a support platform, and in teaching when observing the relationship between gravity direction and attitude angles.
Construction work, machine installation, structural inspection, vehicle wheel alignment, and other tasks with tolerance requirements should use a calibrated professional level with a specified accuracy rating. Phone camera bumps, body flex, protective cases, and sensor drift can all affect the result. ToolKK does not provide metrology certification or an engineering pass/fail judgment.
The Bubble Level requires the device to provide an accelerometer or motion sensor. If the hardware is missing, the system has disabled it, or sensor reading fails, the page will clearly show that it cannot read the sensor. Normal use does not require camera, location, microphone, or photo library permissions, and it will not take pictures of the object being measured.
Orientation calculation happens on the device itself, and the interface only displays the live bubble and angles. ToolKK uses event statistics for tool views and usage counts, but it does not need to upload every frame of tilt data as business content. After switching to the background, the system may pause sensor updates, so when you return to the page you should wait again for the reading to stabilize.
If the bubble does not move, confirm that the device has a motion sensor and try restarting the app; if it keeps leaning to one side, remove the protective case, avoid the camera bump, and test on a known flat glass or stone surface. If the readings jump sharply, stop touching the desk and move away from vibration sources. If the display becomes abnormal after switching between portrait and landscape, exit the tool and re-enter it in the expected orientation.
If the results differ greatly after a 180° rotation, do not keep using a single reading for fine adjustments. You can compare it with another device or a physical spirit level; only when repeated results are consistent should it be used as a daily reference. Any installation that could cause falling objects, water leakage, equipment damage, or personal injury should be checked by a professional.
