Enter one IPv4 or IPv6 address to request geographic and network attribution fields. The result can include country, region, city, internet service provider, network owner, time zone, postal code, area code, and a radius field, depending on what the lookup returns. Missing values appear as dashes. You can copy the displayed information or download a text report.
IP geolocation associates network address ranges with estimated locations; it does not read a device’s GPS. The Internet Engineering Task Force’s RFC 8805 describes a format for geolocation data feeds and calls for consumers to understand limitations and verify accuracy. Government cyber guidance also cautions against treating apparent IP location as a complete basis for a location decision.
