Not sure how to properly protect yourself from the sun during outdoor activities? This tool provides real-time Ultraviolet Index (UVI) lookups for over 300 prefecture-level cities nationwide. The UVI is an internationally recognized, dimensionless scale (ranging from 0 to 11+) that measures the potential for skin damage from solar UV radiation. Based on actual meteorological station data and updated hourly, it returns the day's peak UVI value, risk level (Low/Moderate/High/Very High/Extreme), and corresponding sun protection advice.
Please use standard Chinese names when entering cities. UVI levels are consistently high in high-altitude, island, and snow-covered regions. Children's skin is more sensitive; it is recommended to start basic sun protection when the UVI is ≥3.
Typical query example: Searching for "Lhasa" at noon in summer usually returns a UVI of 12.6 (Extreme level). It is advised to avoid going out at noon, use SPF 50+ sunscreen, and reapply every 2 hours. Note that UVI peaks between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, during which time sun protection should be reinforced.
