Tool Introduction

The IP Address Extractor is an efficient and practical online tool designed to help users quickly and accurately identify and extract all valid IPv4 addresses from any text content. Whether it's log files, configuration files, code snippets, or ordinary documents, as long as they contain IP addresses, this tool can batch filter them out.

Users simply paste the text containing IP addresses into the “Content to extract” input box, and the tool will automatically process it. Additionally, you can select the “Show Statistics” function to intuitively understand the total number of extracted IP addresses, greatly improving efficiency when processing network information.

How to Use

  1. In the “Content to extract” text box, enter or paste the text content from which you need to extract IP addresses. This tool supports various text input formats.
  2. (Optional) If you need to view the total number of extracted IP addresses, please check the “Show Statistics” checkbox.
  3. The tool will automatically analyze the input content and display all identified valid IPv4 addresses in real-time in the “Extraction Result” text box, one per line.

Input Parameters:

  • Content to extract (from): Text type, required. The original text you need to process, such as server logs, network configuration information, etc.

Output Results:

  • Extraction Result (to): Text type. One valid IPv4 address per line. If “Show Statistics” is checked, a statistical message will be appended to the end of the output, showing the total number of extracted IP addresses.

Usage Example

The following example demonstrates how to use the IP Address Extractor to extract IP addresses from a mixed text.

  • Example Input Data:
Server A's IP is 192.168.1.1, and the backup IP is 10.0.0.254.
Access logs record requests from 203.0.113.45 and 198.51.100.23.
There is also an invalid IP: 999.999.999.999, please ignore it.
    The LAN gateway is 192.168.0.1.
  • Expected Output (without “Show Statistics” checked):
    192.168.1.1
    10.0.0.254
    203.0.113.45
    198.51.100.23
    192.168.0.1
  • Expected Output (with “Show Statistics” checked):
    192.168.1.1
    10.0.0.254
    203.0.113.45
    198.51.100.23
    192.168.0.1
    --------------------
Total of 5 IP addresses extracted.
  • Specific Operation Demonstration:
    1. Copy and paste the above “Example Input Data” into the “Content to extract” text box on the tool interface.
    2. According to your needs, choose whether to check the “Show Statistics” checkbox.
    3. Observe the “Extraction Result” text box, and you will see a list of IP addresses consistent with the expected output above.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What IP address formats does this tool support for extraction?
  • A: This tool is primarily used to extract standard IPv4 addresses from text, in the format “X.X.X.X”, where X represents a number between 0 and 255.
  • Q: Are the IP addresses in the output results ordered?
  • A: The extracted IP addresses will be arranged in the order of their first appearance in the “Content to extract”.
  • Q: If the text contains invalid IP addresses, will they be extracted?
  • A: No. This tool has intelligent recognition capabilities and will only extract valid IP addresses that conform to IPv4 address specifications, automatically ignoring invalid IP addresses like “999.999.999.999”.
  • Q: Can IP addresses be extracted from very large text files?
  • A: Theoretically supported, but processing very large text files may consume more time and resources, please be patient.

Notes

  • Input Data Format: Please ensure that your input text content contains the IPv4 addresses you wish to extract. This tool will not modify the text content itself.
  • IP Address Type: Currently, the tool primarily focuses on IPv4 address extraction and does not yet support IPv6 addresses.
  • Show Statistics: Checking “Show Statistics” will append a line of statistical information to the final result. If you only need a pure list of IP addresses, please uncheck this option.
  • Whitespace and Newlines: The tool automatically handles whitespace characters and newlines in the text during extraction and will not affect IP address recognition.
