The query results are displayed in a clear table format, including a series of detailed data such as Area ID, Parent Code, Full Name, Short Name, Pinyin, Zip Code, Area Code, Longitude and Latitude (longitude lon and latitude lat), and administrative level, meeting your needs in various scenarios such as geographic information, data analysis, or address verification. In addition, the tool supports paginated display, ensuring smooth and efficient queries even with large amounts of data.
Introduction to Administrative Divisions
Administrative divisions are geographical areas divided by a country into different levels for administrative management purposes. In China, the administrative division system is usually divided into multiple levels such as provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, special administrative regions), cities (prefecture-level cities, autonomous prefectures, leagues), counties (county-level cities, municipal districts, banners, autonomous counties), townships (towns, sub-districts), and villages (communities). Each administrative division has its independent code, name, geographical boundaries, and management institutions. Understanding administrative divisions helps to better understand China's geographical composition, population distribution, and socio-economic development.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What is the role of the "Level" parameter when querying? A: The "Level" parameter is optional and is used to precisely specify the administrative region hierarchy you want to query. For example, if you only want to find information about city-level regions, you can fill in "2" in "Level". If you do not fill it in, the tool will return all administrative level data matching the "Area Name", which may include multiple results such as provincial, city, district/county levels, suitable for fuzzy queries.
- Q: How to find the zip code and longitude/latitude of an area? A: You just need to enter the name of the area in the "Area Name" input box, for example, "Pudong New Area, Shanghai Municipality", and then click query. The result table will directly display the corresponding "Zip Code" (zipCode), "Longitude" (lon), and "Latitude" (lat) information.
- Q: If there are many query results, how can I view all the data? A: This tool supports pagination. By default, 20 results are displayed per page. When the data volume is large, you can use the page number navigation buttons below the result table to flip through pages and view all matching administrative region data.
- Q: What is the use of "Parent Code" in the query results? A: The "Parent Code" (parentId) field indicates the code of the administrative level to which the current administrative region belongs. This is very helpful for understanding the hierarchical relationship of administrative divisions and building a complete administrative region tree structure. For example, the parent code of a district/county usually points to the code of the prefecture-level city or municipality directly under the central government to which it belongs.
Notes
- "Area Name" is a required field. Please be sure to fill in the name of the area you want to query, and try to ensure the accuracy of the name to get more precise query results.
- The "Level" parameter is an optional numerical input (1-5), representing provinces, cities, districts/counties, townships, and village committees, respectively. Entering non-numeric characters or numbers outside this range may lead to query failure or inaccurate results.
- The longitude (lon) and latitude (lat) information in the query results use the WGS84 coordinate system and can be directly used in most map applications and geographic information systems.
- If the query result is empty, please check whether the entered "Area Name" is correct, or try not to specify "Level" for a broader search.
